Life Without Albert
Well, it's been 11 days, 9 games since Albert went down with the oblique injury.
Alot has happened since then. The Cardinals were swept by the Reds, and have went to second place, and back to first place in that period. While Cardinal games are still my love, and passion, they still just are not the same with Jose Alberto batting in that third spot. Luckily for the Cardinals, Scott Rolen has pretended to be Albert, and has sky rocketed to the top of the batting average in the National League.
Oddly enough, Rolen is a legitimate MVP candidate right now.The Cardinals have held onto first place without Albert so far. During these past 11 days, Albert has been in the new for HGH(human growth hormone) speculation. He and his trainer have both stated there is no way Albert has EVER taken HGH, or any illegal substances.
(For more on that read my article on it). As the stat column indicates at the top of the page, Albert still leads several offensive categories, and is in the top ten in many others. While missing that many games, can you believe the man still leads in homeruns, and rbi's? That just goes to show how en fuego the man was in April and May.Albert has also been in the news, because he leads considerably in MVP votes.
Not only for first basemen, but he is also the leading vote getter in the entire National League. Albert certainly has taken center statge in Major League Baseball. We here at APC, will admit, without Albert in the everyday lineup, business slows down a bit around here. Surprisingly, we get new members to join each and every day, showing the true popularity of Albert.
We want to thank you the members for your support and for spreading the word.We will make the goal come true!Ryan KnuppelPublisher at Albert Pujols Club.albertpujolsclub.com
